The PSU has been making noise of more than a year. The fan is supposed to be the issue. I have lost two HDDs due to the vibrations the fan brings in. Puchased a new SSD and setting up the workstation. I’m enjoying the speed 3rd Gen SSDs bring. I think anything more than this will be an overkill. The PSU fan too needs to be fixed, its annoying. The two ping 120 mm fan are rare in the online market. Have found a tiny firm accepting to ship me with a delivery time of a week. I hope this will end the misery.
My last post was 4 months ago. I did miss typing out in between. I was having mixed thoughts about the blogs. One no one reads it and secondly, I was worried that I had opened up my heart informing important things about myself that a stranger should never know. I could be manipulated later. So I preferred to not post anything until I came up with a conclusion. A few points on this:
Completed reading The Fountainhead by Ayn Rand. It has some interesting ideas. How Altruism is bad and selfishness that which doesn’t hurt others is better. The novel is written well. She describes each scene with details such as the environment, clothes and emotions making the reader feel like watching a movie. The plot is built slowly making it a 350+ page novel. The cream however is in 4 pages in which the character Howard Roark gives his speech in his trial.
Ordered fountain pens and inks. I always enjoyed dribbling pen on paper. Since most of the tasks have turned digital, writing with a pen started feeling difficult. My Hindi handwriting too has turned bad since I have not used it for decades. Now that it is the primary language to communicate with the officials in UP, I better improve it. Not gonna lie, I developed a sense of inferiority for the Hindi language until I recently found that perhaps English is the most inferior one. It has not only fewer root words, but it also draws many words from another language. Subjects such as philosophy and art should be read in non-English. I hope to practice a little every day to build the most important skills humans have developed, reading and writing.
Will slow down reading more new books, the exam should be taken. The digital notes are being made, once sufficient matter is written, it will be converted into articles.
Despite numerous complaints, the internet connection remains unreliable, and unfortunately, BSNL, the ISP, has been unable to resolve the issue. On the bright side, I’ve turned to hard-copy books as an alternative.
I delved into the world of Wardley maps yesterday and discovered their remarkable ability to shape business strategies. Although there are many unknowns to navigate in my career, the maps proved invaluable in helping me brainstorm and identify the most valuable skills to focus on for my future plans. I intend to revisit these maps once I attain a leadership role.
My current focus will be on Vim and Tmux, and to aid my learning, I’ll be creating cheat sheets.
As part of my weekly review, I will assess the books I read over the weekend. This exercise will test my ability to retain information and gauge how well I remember the content after a week.
My niece lost interest in a book within just two days and has resorted to binge-watching cartoons. Although she found the book enjoyable, her reading skills are lacking. We attempted to go through two chapters together, and while the story proved intriguing, using a dictionary did not significantly improve her comprehension. On the positive side, she has learned how to use a dictionary, and truth be told, I found myself needing one as well.”
