Boxwood!

Boxwood is a type of evergreen shrub or small tree that is native to Europe, Asia, and Africa. It has been used for thousands of years for its fine, dense wood and attractive, dark green foliage. One interesting fact about boxwood is that it was once believed to have magical properties. In medieval Europe, it was thought to ward off evil spirits and protect against witches and other supernatural beings. Boxwood was often planted near houses and churches for this reason, and its wood was carved into religious objects and other protective talismans. Today, boxwood is still used in traditional woodworking and for making musical instruments, such as the flute and the recorder.
