The color of their blooms can be changed depending on the acidity of the soil they’re planted in. If the soil is acidic, the flowers will tend to be more blue, while alkaline soil will cause the flowers to be more pink. Gardeners can manipulate the color of hydrangeas by adjusting the pH level of the soil, creating a wide range of color possibilities.
